In fact if you feel adventurous, a few months ago I learned of a free program that lets users install the latest macOS versions on unsupported devices.īelieve it or not, the aforementioned MacBook Air is currently running the latest version of Mojave, and it handles this much better than it did (the officially compatible) High Sierra. What are your thoughts? Which OS has the best performance and battery life for this MacBook? According to this post Mavericks is the last OS which was able to run smoothly on this machine. However, I'm still facing the same performance and battery issues. I eventually downgraded to High Sierra, thinking Mojave might be to heavy for this MacBook. I found it to be slow and constantly out of RAM, with around 3 hour battery life. It started out with High Sierra when I first got it and I upgraded it to Mojave right away. I've got a 2012 MacBook for my office work. ![]()
